Rayis-Rabigh Independent Water Transmission Pipeline Project (IWTP) is a pioneering initiative in the Kingdom, to be developed on the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.
WD News: The Saudi Water Partnership Co. (SWPC) has selected a consortium led by Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Co. (AWPT) as the preferred bidder for the Rayis-Rabigh IWTP. The project will be executed at a revised tariff of SAR 1.25678 per cubic metre.
The IWTP is designed to have an impressive transmission capacity of 500,000 cubic metres per day, extending over a distance of 150 kilometres, dedicated to supplying the regions of Makkah and Madinah with much-needed drinking water.
AWPT envisions completing the construction and commencing commercial operations by the first quarter of 2026, and they will be operating the project for 35 years, owning 50% of the consortium.
