Prospect Lake Clean Water Centre to produce 50 million gallons of clean, clear water per day, strengthening Fort Lauderdale’s water supply.

WD News: IDE Technologies has announced the closing of a Public Private Partnership (P3) project with the City of Fort Lauderdale to design, construct and operate a new mega water treatment plant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

IDE has partnered with Ridgewood Infrastructure (RI) to create this project in which IDE and RI will fund 25% of the project costs and own the risk of construction and the long-term risk of operation and maintenance of the project.

“We are excited to start the project and proud to add Prospect Lake Clean Water Centre to our list of innovative, large-scale water infrastructure projects,” said Lihy Teuerstein, CEO, of IDE Water Assets.

The Prospect Lake Clean Water Centre will use nanofiltration and ion-exchange technology and will replace the city’s existing Fiveash water treatment plant which has been in operation for almost 70 years, providing clear, clean high-quality water for decades to come. Once complete, it will have the capacity to produce 50 million gallons of treated water per day, strengthening and improving the sustainability of Fort Lauderdale’s water supply.

“As IDE continues to secure BOT and DBOM desalination projects, we are expanding our activity in the water treatment sector,” said Alon Tavor, CEO, of IDE Group.
