WD News: China Everbright Water Co., Ltd., has announced that the company has recently acquired the first phase of the Liaoning Anshan Municipal Sludge Disposal Project, involving an investment of approximately RMB 186 million.
The first phase of the Anshan Sludge Disposal Project will be invested, constructed, operated, and maintained by a project company wholly owned by Everbright Water in the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, with a franchise period of 30 years (including the construction period).
The project mainly includes the construction of a new sludge disposal plant with a daily processing capacity of 500 tons, a sludge treatment workshop, and infrastructure supporting projects such as water supply and drainage, an electrical pipe network, etc.
The project is mainly responsible for treating the sludge with a water content of 80% produced by Anshan All-Water Treatment Plant, reducing the water content of the sludge to 40%, and then transporting it to a designated waste-to-energy plant for co-combustion with domestic waste ensuring a harmless and resourceful disposal of sludge.
Mr. Hu Yanguo, Executive Director and Chairman of Everbright Water, said, “The first phase of the Anshan Sludge Treatment Project is the first city-level sludge treatment project obtained by the company after building sludge treatment facilities in the plant areas of several sewage treatment projects in recent years.”
