Centre Issues Funds for Yamuna-Mussoorie Water Supply Project

WD News: The central government has released a sum of Rs. 56.46 crore, which was the balance payment for the Rs, 144 crore Yamuna-Mussoorie water supply project, currently being constructed in Mussoorie.

Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed hope that the project would help in resolving drinking water scarcity in Mussoorie.

A 16-km-long pipeline has been laid between Yamuna and Mussoorie and the water was being pumped in four stages and would be treated through a treatment plant.

According to the implementing agency, Peyjal Nigam, the project is expected to resolve Mussoorie’s water problems for the next 30 years.
