The United Nations Water Conference Academic Hub is a new platform connecting academic, scientific, and policy communities to the 2026 Conference’s official preparatory process.
Guided by six ‘Interactive Dialogue’ themes, the Hub brings research, innovation, and evidence-based insights into the heart of the Conference, ensuring they meaningfully inform its discussions, inputs, and outcomes.
Academic and scientific communities have demonstrated strong interest in contributing evidence and analytical perspectives to the Conference. The Academic Hub will gather, organise and channel research inputs in ways that are centralised visible, accessible and relevant to policymakers and other stakeholders. It aims to support inclusive participation, particularly from youth, women and experts from the Global South.
The Hub is co-led by the United Nations University (UNU), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and Members and Partners of UN-Water.
