WD News: The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority has taken up a water project to feed large parts of Maheshtala and its surrounding neighborhoods, including some parts of Garden Reach.
“KMDA will construct a water treatment plant in the Maheshtala area,” said Firhad Hakim, Urban Development Minister of the state.
According to Hakim, though the Garden Reach water plant has maintained supplies potable water to Maheshtala, Pujali and other municipal areas, residents in some parts of Garden Reach are suffering from a water crisis.
“I hope the water treatment plant in Maheshtala will benefit residents of Garden Reach,” said Hakim.
