Haryana’s Shiv Singh Rawat Gets National Water Management Award

WD News: The Superintending Engineer in Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Department Gurgaon, Dr Shiv Singh Rawat, who is also the Regional Officer of Atal Bhujal Yojna has been conferred with “National Water Resources Management Award – 2022” for outstanding contribution and achievements in water resources conservation and management by the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), New Delhi.

The Board of Governors of CIU has appreciated the outstanding contribution and achievements of Dr Rawat in the areas of water conservation and management.

Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi President CIU said the award has been instituted and conferred upon Dr Shiv Singh Rawat with a view to enabling him to work with new zeal and enthusiasm so that the centre and state governments and the civil society could fully use his expertise and knowledge of his abilities.

Dr Shiv Singh Rawat has more than 32 years of experience in various government departments. He has worked on prestigious projects related to irrigation schemes and canal based drinking water to Southern Haryana including the millennium city Gurugram, and projects for utilising wastewater for irrigation purpose and also rejuvenation of water bodies.

Rawat, PhD from IIT Delhi, in addition to his official duties has been actively involved in social services including funding fruit tree plantation, water awareness programs through Jal Panchayats, rejuvenation of pond and abandoned wells, promoting green energy through installation of solar lights and solar streets in schools and villages.
