As part of Seva Pravas, the Department of Soil and Water Conservation organised a Cleanliness Drive and Waste Segregation Awareness Programme at Spring Buds School, Ompura Budgam. The event was led by District Officer Riyaz Malik, along with Zonal Officer Ahsab-ul-Haq and Nodal Officer Abdul Raheem Dar.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness among students and staff on the importance of maintaining cleanliness and practising proper waste segregation for a healthier environment. Students actively participated in cleaning the school premises and were educated on the need to separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste at the source to promote sustainable waste management, the department said in a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, District Officer Riyaz Malik highlighted that cleanliness and responsible waste management play a key role in environmental conservation. He lauded the enthusiasm of the students and staff and urged them to spread the message of cleanliness and eco-friendly practices within their communities.
