Snowy mountains, may stave-off water crisis this year

  • 09 April, 2019 - Setting aside the projections predicted by meteorological department, of a hot summer ahead, North India might be able to quench its thirst for water owing to the heavy rainfalls in the western Himalayas. From J&K to Uttarakhand, the region received its highest snowfall this year in many seasons. Himachal Pradesh recorded 25-year-high snowfall in the January to March period, according to the state met department.
