DJB makes it strong to keep Yamuna clean, dates for registration of vendors extended

  • 01 Fabruary, 2019 - The Delhi Jal Board has extended the date for registration of vendors for availing valid license for collection, transportation and disposal of Septic Tank Waste at notified location till February 11, 2019. The Delhi Jal Board appeals the vendors to come forward and avail the valid license for the aforesaid purpose.

    The Board apprises the esteemed citizens of Delhi that Septic Tank Waste Management Regulation -2018 has come into force w.e.f. 12th November 2018. As per the regulations, Septic tank Waste (Septage) shall be collected, transported and disposed only by vendors having a valid License for this purpose issued by the Delhi Jal Board. The disposal has to be done only at the notified sites.

    It shall be the duty of each owner/ occupier of the building to engage the services of only those vendors who has been issued License by the Delhi Jal Board for Collection, transportation and disposal of septic tank waste to notified locations. The septic tank waste shall be transported only in the vehicles approved for this purpose. Those who fail to register their vehicles and continue their operations will face stern actions and the vehicles will be seized.

    The idea behind the whole practice is to make the national capital a healthier and a hygienic place for the citizens. This is one of the major steps to curb the dumping of the septic tank waste in open drains which are out falling in River Yamuna. Proper implementation of the process will make the vendors for Collection, Transportation and Disposal of Septic Tank waste fall in line and follow the prescribed rules in handling the waste. Any person/Company/Contractor/Licensed vendor found dumping the septic tank waste other than the notified locations shall be liable to pay a penalty of Rs. 50,000/- or as notified from time-to-time.
